Does Austin have a "Culture"?
Absolutely! Click here for Wikipedia's description of
Austin Culture

How does Austin differ from Houston or Dallas?
Austin is often called a "big little city". It is a major city with a top university, the center of Texas government, lots of high tech and innovation, art and music, etc., but it has maintained a "small town feel". Houston and Dallas are much larger cities and much more spread out. Also,
Austin is very green and has lakes and rolling hills. Houston and Dallas are much more flat, dry and much less green.

Aren't Texans kind of unsophisticated?
Wothout speaking for the rest of Texas, Austin has one of the most educated and "wordly" populations of any city in America. With the fifth largest university in the country (University of Texas), the headquarters of Dell Computers (just outside Austin in Round Rock) and many other technology companies which employ thousands of people from all over the country and world, a huge music and art scene, and much more, Austinites tend to be extrmeley educated and sophistacted, but not snobby.

Is Austin very flat and dry like other parts of Texas?
No, actually it is extremely green, has beautiful lakes and natural springs and gorgeous rolling hills.

What is the weather like in Austin?
It is quite hot in the summer, might have a few days of freezing temperatures in the winter, rarely snows. The summer nights are beautiful.
